You most likely have an Instagram account set up for your business which is a great first step. Unfortunately, that in itself is not enough to see business come through.

I started my business using Instagram and Instagram only. No other social media platforms. No email marketing. No website. No nothing. Simply Instagram. If you're still not convinced on the power that Instagram has when it comes to building it and making sales, here are three reasons why a strong online presence on Instagram is essential for your business.

With such a large active community on Instagram, it's a no-brainer to be organically marketing your products or services there. There are people looking for exactly what you offer, they just need to find you.

Staying active on Instagram as a brand shows you're staying up to date and involved with your community. To get your brand seen by more of your target audience, you need to be spending time engaging with your audience. This means liking their posts, commenting on posts that resonate with you and your brands message and sharing User-Generated-Content. You'll be doing yourself a huge favour by spending some time doing this as it helps to you become more noticeable and spreads your brand name to wider audiences and can bring in new interested followers to your business.

When first starting my business and up until now, I've closed the majority of my sales directly through Instagram. By establishing a strong presence on Instagram, you're going to be connecting with a huge pool of potential customers who are already looking for products and services like yours. Already, you're showcasing your products and services to a community who follow you because they enjoy and are interested in your brand and what you have to offer.

Don't get me wrong - you absolutely have to have a strategy in place to achieve this, otherwise your efforts may just be going to waste but consistently posting strategy-backed content is taking you that step closer to seeing an increase in your revenue through Instagram. Whatever your goal is, whether it be to help you reach a certain number of sales or enquiries, a strong and consistent online presence is what will help you get there.
